Crooked Kingdom was written by Leigh Bardugo.
After their return from the Ice Court Kaz and his friends learned of the betrayal of Jan van Eck in a hard way: he captured Inej so he could exchange her with Kuwei yul-Bo, the only one who knows the way to make jurda parem. Now Kaz finds himself in the middle of a game where the odds are definitely against him. But Jan van Eck made himself a powerful enemy in Kaz, Inej, Nina, Matthias, Jesper and Wylan because their impossible mission to break into the Ice Court made them into something powerful: a team that no one is able break apart.
As I´m writing this the Six Of Crows article hasn´t been published yet so we´ll see if my lazy-ass self remembers to link the article to this one.
→Six Of Crows (I did it!)
Seriously, after I´ve read Six Of Crows I doubted that Crooked Kingdom could be better even just a tiny bit, but for reasons Crooked Kingdom just topped SOC.
Like, holy shit, these characters are the same age as I am and they´re just so fascinating and intelligent in their own ways and I literally read this book awestruck af.
Also one important thing I need to mention: Leigh Bardugo wrote every single character such a perfect back story and I have the most respect for that woman.
